It is always organically grown and is known for its nutrition, ease of digestibility and its sweet buttery flavor and texture. Kamut® has many health benefits and is a great source of protein and fiber, as well as many other vitamins and minerals. For more information about Kamut flour read more here.
Method
This simple banana bread only uses one bowl and one utensil! You simply mash the bananas right into the bowl with a dinner fork. All other ingredients are added right into the bowl and incorporated gradually. I like to mash bananas, add sugar, baking soda, and then melted butter. I add the egg and then the flour last.
What you'll need
- Mixing bowl
- Dinner Flork
- Ripe bananas
- Melted butter (I love salted Kerrygold for this recipe)
- Baking soda
- Sugar (I like an organic variety of unrefined cane sugar)
- One large egg
- Vanilla extract
- All-purpose Kamut® flour
- Bread pan (mine is a 1 pound loaf pan that is 8 ½" x 4 ½" x 2 ¾" )
Method
In a medium sized mixing bowl mash banana well with the back of a fork. Add sugar and egg to the bowl and combine. Add vanilla and baking soda to the mixture and combine. Quickly stir in butter, if butter is still warm be sure to incorporate it slowly stirring quickly to avoid cooking the egg. Add in flour ¼ cup at a time combining entirely. Pour mixture into a 1 pound loaf pan that is 8 ½" x 4 ½" x 2 ¾" Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool and serve!
